Trading Fees
Learn about trading fees on DeVol.
DeVol charges a flat transaction fee of 0.5 basis points (0.005%) per stake (1 unit of base currency paid at expiration) purchased or sold in each underlying Standard Risk Block (SRB) used to synthetically replicate the option payoff.
Depending on the expected range for the underlier at option initialization (spot + implied volatility), this comes out to between 0.01% - 0.03% of notional amount of each trade.
DeVol does not charge separate fees for clearing or settlement of trades. Because DeVol is built on top of the DeVol protocol, which in turn is built on top of the Solana blockchain, clearing and settlement both occur βon-chainβ. In practice, this means that clearing and settlement processes are conducted through autonomous code which execute predefined actions when certain conditions are met. Thus, clearing and settlement processes for DeVol are not only more transparent in comparison to legacy processes, but they are also fully automated and therefore do not generate incremental costs through manual workflows.
This is why traders on DeVol can benefit from very low transaction fees.
